If you are thinking about buying a home in Providence Country Club, there’s a nice new French restaurant that opened recently. Aix en Provence opened Dec. 28 at 545 Providence Road in the space formerly occupied by Terra, which closed its doors in December.
The food is French with a flare of the Mediterranean. The restaurant sources local ingredients and is influenced by northern Italian and Spanish flavors, according to its Faceboook page.
The menu such French classics as escargot and cassoulet. Executive chef Nicholas Tarnate blends Italian and French in a pasta dish that includes octopus, red wine and rich foie gras. Though limited, the menu includes dishes of poultry, beef and fish. The wine list gives diners a good selection of red and white wines by the bottle in a broad range of prices and a short list of both by the glass.
Aix en Provence is the result of Bryan St. Claire, a former manager at Rooster’s; and Patrick Garrivier, a former general manager at Lumiere, joining forces. Go on by and check it out.
